Children are an integral part of our community, and we welcome them at all of our services. Our Cafe Services (1st and 3rd Sundays) are designed with families in mind and there are activities and prompts for discussion suitable for children at each table (as well as biscuits!).
On the Second Sunday of each month we hold our popular 'Forest Church' outdoors around a campfire. This is an opportunity for children of all ages (under 7's need an accompanying adult) to encounter God in nature and to explore faith in quite unusual ways! On the same Sunday (the 2nd of each month) we hold a special Sunday Group called 'Nibblers' in the Church Centre for under 7's (and the parents they want there too).
In every service there are options to bring toys and books from our cupboards into church or drinks or whatever your children need. There is a changing table in one of our loos.
Teenagers have their own 'Brunch Church' in the Centre on the 4th Sunday of the month. And a youth group 'Second Sundaes' which meets at the Vicarage every Second Sunday evening.
We aim to respect the views of children and young people,to be inclusive of their needs, and to provide a safe environment in which children and young people can find out about the Christian faith in a supportive and creative atmosphere. We take safeguarding very seriously. the Church guidelines for safeguarding can be found here.
CHIRPY CHERRIES: a play and sing group for preschool children and their carers meets every termtime Friday in the Church Centre from 9:30-11am. at the moment we are not singing due to the COVID risk but there are toys and crafts, and delicious snacks. Teas and Coffees for the adults! Free admission, donations welcome.
A RAINBOW and SUNSHINE play group for families who have lost babies or children, but who also have preschool children, met in our Centre before the pandemic. If this group would be of interest to you, please contact Rebecca Peckham on email@example.com or 07909-582642 and we will consider starting it up again.
